The K-League continues to have some fun matches (at least for those who are not defensive purists). Round 3 saw Busan take an early 2-0 lead on Jeonbuk, but then concede five to lose 5-2. Round 3 also saw Sangju defeat Seongnam 3-2. Round 4 showcased a thrilling 3-3 draw between Jeju and Sangju. What will round 5 bring next weekend? Who knows, the SKB will be in Busan once again for the match between the countries two biggest cities, Seoul and Busan as FC Seoul takes on Busan I’Park. Seoul managed to pick up their first win of the season, beating Jeonbuk 3-1 in round 4. Busan continues their defensive meltdown as they lost to Seongnam 2-0. So far in four matches, Busan has conceded a whopping 12 goals (that would be three per game).
Schedule – Round 5
Gwangju – Sangju
Pohang – Incheon
Daegu – Gyeongnam
Ulsan – Gangwon
Jeonbuk – Suwon
Busan – Seoul
Daejeon – Jeju
Chunnam – Seongnam
Other important match ups are Daegu – Gyeongnam and Daejeon – Jeju. Daegu (7 points) and Gyeongnam (9 points) are lurking just behind the leaders and a victory would push them up the table. A win for Daegu would see them move a point clear of Gyeongnam, while a Gyeongnam victory would increase the gap to five points. Daejeon – Jeju is also an important early season clash. Daejeon is currently top with 10 points, while last year’s runner up, Jeju, has eight points. Like the other match, a Jeju win would take them above Daejeon by a point, while a Daejeon win would likely seem them maintain their top spot and push Jeju further down.
