What’s Going On?
It’s been a pretty uneventful two seasons since the end of the tournament, and the fan worship has gone back into hibernation until 2010. That’s IF they qualify for that tournament, and by then the team will be quite different.
Their last foray into ‘friendly’ territory ended up being a 0-2 loss to Uruguay, which was a fitting score. ... [read]
My Picks
Due to the excessive bitching and whining (read: trolling) from Allesandro, along with the stupidity of other posters who took the bait at every turn, I’m now shutting off the comments. Thanks for ruining a site that a lot of people enjoyed.
From the land of the ROK, I was quite disappointed that the Korean netizens spent so much time ... [read]

Will the Swiss miss?
[Incidentally, before you all work your puds into a lather, know that I'll be breaking down the upcoming game tomorrow, comparing strengths and weaknesses, disregarding past stats and strictly concentrating on tactics and probable line-ups. I won't be kvetching about nationalism, patriotism, magnetism, or any other -ism you've all got going on--unless you wanna buy me a beer and ... [read]
Better Red Than Right Said Fred
Although there are still many gatherings in Pusan’s ‘hot’ spots, the biggest conclave of Red Devil supporters seem to be found in Seoul. Here’s a short article documenting the aftermath of the France/Korea game.

And what sometimes happens when ... [read]

Quality wins out over quantity every time, and I strive to make the posts as informative as possible, including 'my opinions' concerning possible opponents in the next round in addition to other games going on. Who else is ... [read]
Death To The World Cup!
I wasn’t wrong when I made a broad-based generalization that although for most of us, the World Cup is a sacred event, but that there are many who represent the opposing view.
Here’s an article about German discontent with the media overkill of the world’s biggest sporting event.

Les Blahs, or ‘Haven’t We Been Here Before?’

A wild weekend of pre-wedding parties (including my own, for your edification) meant a lack of coverage on my part, so for those of you who think I’ve abandoned the post, fear not! I’ve returned and I apologize for not getting back on sooner.
A hangover won’t dilute what’s on ... [read]

Man.
Eloquent, aren’t I? But in fact, I hadn’t planned on staying up all night to watch the three games, and just couldn’t stop watching after the Spain/Ukraine game. Well, here we go anyway with the rundown.
Spain 4:0 Ukraine
I have to say I never expected quite this lopsided of ... [read]
