Younger Korea Team Focuses on Offense
Park Ji-sung was in Germany yesterday posing in the new Nike kits. He took some time out to talk with reporters. Among the highlights of his conversation, he stressed that despite being a younger team than it was in 2002, Korea is still dangerous and talented. Park also said that coach Dick Advocaat is more offensive minded than Guus Hiddink. Park’s biggest concern? The grass in Europe.
“Korean grass is rather dry and stiff, while European grass is softer and wetter. It is important that we adapt to more slippery conditions,” he said.
And then there were these kind words from his Manchester United teammate Ruud Van Nistelrooy: “Park is the best. He plays in nearly every game, and he is second only to Wayne Rooney in the number of assists he makes. His game has matured impressively since I played with him in Holland. The Europe league experience of Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-pyo will contribute greatly to the Korean national team.”
Here’s hoping that Ruud is right!
