South Korea Ready to Face Mexico
February 14th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »
Here’s a little piece of trivia for you. What was the first team South Korea defeated after it was freed from Japanese rule? The answer is Mexico. Since that game in 1948, South Korea has not fared that well against Mexico with a 2-5-2 record. The two sides are set to square off again on Wednesday in Los Angeles. Mexico will have 11 players on its roster who helped the team qualify for the World Cup. For South Korea, the game is the final contest of a 41-day overseas training camp. South Korea will be coached by assistant Pim Verbeek who is filling in for Dick Advocaat who is back in Holland attending his mother-in-law’s funeral.
