Koreans Rebound for Draw against Greece
After starting its world tour on a bad note by losing to an average UAE team earlier this week, South Korea bounced back to gain a 1-1 draw with Greece in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
A header by Park Chu-Young in the 14th minute proved to be the equalizer in a match that didn’t see many scoring opportunities for either side. Theodoros Zagorakis put Greece on the board with an easy goal in the 10th minute.
South Korean coach Dick Advocaat has to be a bit pleased with this result as he continues to shuffle his lineup of mostly domestic K-League players and he continues to work on their fitness level. This is not the same team as 2002, but there is still plenty of time for the Dutch coach to whip the troops into shape.
