Friendly vs. Senegal tomorrow… Park sidelined with injury

May 22nd, 2006 | By: Johnny | 7 Comments »

Park Ji-Sung is apparently not playing in the match against Senegal tomorrow; if he’s really injured, that’s the first I’ve heard of it, although my gut feeling is that they want to save their big guns for the tourney, having already lost Lee Dong-Gook to injury earlier on.

Park was injured three weeks ago in Uniteds homa match against Middlesbrough (0-0). He sustained an ankle injury and was substituted after 56 minutes.

Interesting result, but ultimately meaningless. The only three games that matter are against Togo, Switzerland, and France, and if this game is any indication, Togo are not going to just lie down, so anybody predicting 4-0 scorelines should check themselves.

‘no free lunch’ lads. Senegal is not a small team to easily beat, although, sad to note, they were using high school boys, not mentioning Nd’iaye and Faye. Mind you, Togo is a stronger team at the moment so Korea won’t have it easy. U might have noted that Korea has no system of play and the Senegalese were holding on the ball with much confidence than expected. so we will have to wait and see what happens. One thing, Korea will have a good run in the first game.
